^Wow, that tower beats mine by a lot. Mine was only 231 cm, lol. The tires and flexi-tube were good ideas. I guess there's no point in posting mine anymore.

oh noes, my current one is only 2m70 or something, was going to record/upload it tomorrow :s

Might need to revise it

I don't realy know what to think about the "tube". Wish I had one like it, saves tons of parts and adds a stable ball holder :s

^ i was thinking the same thing. Most of us don't have that tube, or even those tires...

What if we kept it, just classic pieces? no specialty ones?

Well i dunno, the rules said you can use any type of knex. the tube is from loopin lizard, and the wheels from Trekker (normal large wheels worked better but it was 1-2cm higher with these)

Remember there is a component of making the best looking tower too.

No reason not to post your entries because this really is just about fun.

Yeah, but i wouldn't really consider a plastic tube a piece of knex...

^I'll still post mine eventually.

I did manage to adjust the top of the tower though. Kairah's use of the tube made me think of what I tried doing during cyclo. Using a wheel as ball cup.
The next model stands at 2m 95cm (and about 5mm)

Thumbs up 2th Entry

Alright here's my second entry. No special parts were used, i took away some supports and added the white connector at the top to safe a total of 7 pieces. Then I added one more layer of gray, and two gray rods with a gear on top. A gray gear didnt work but the red one did. It took me ages to get the ball in perfect balance though.

The top of the ball is at 344,5 cm from the ground

I don't know how you did it, but as soon as I put a tennis ball on 2 single rods (alligned) they fail.

I though i found a way to use the knex "rope" as extra support, but the shape is too irregular and twists and turns it's own way...

Wow. This is nearly identical to mine!

I'm gonna have to sit down for a while, and figure out a new system.

I can't build mine any higher because my ceiling only goes up to 231 cm. :/

But I guess I'll post it anyway. If I don't I will have taken pictures and video for nothing.

I've tried certain other ways of building a tower, but only kairah's method (using cross-beams and angular sides) goes over 3m. And I can't just build the same thing...

It's only copying if you don't make it taller.

I might get it a little taller. But the stairs won't do as 'floor' caus the surface is too small.
Maybe I'll give it a try at sundy, I'll let you know if I made eny big difference. But kairah wouldn't forgive me if it's the same with just one extra centimetre or something

^Lol

I agree with BGTKing though, if you have at least 1 different part it isn't a copy^^'

Well, a coppy isn't a better build.
I used your method of "building" and took it up to 3m 33cm
now i noticed you didn't do all the horizontal supports.

I'm trying to build it without using the big yellow gears.

I think there were more then just the "tallest" achievement. Ratings on how it looks etc are also to be given.. I think.
