Lots of vehicle lines. Nascar, Monster Jam, Orange County Choppers, miniversion of the Moto-Bots, plus a small line of creature vehicles, a new rescue vehicle with brick based spring motor (K'nex's) third new brick motor, and 13 sets are out in the stores already.
(Monster Jam and new OCC not out yet). And plenty more coming out including a second wave of Nascar. |

Dateline: my internet portal. Knex is now advertising for advance order new Orange County Choppers line of motorcycles. The T-Rex at 1/10 scale retails for $9.95, the All Star and After Burner Choppers retail for $19.95 @ and are at 1/6 scale. Sounds like a repetition of the the two scales (standard and micro) under the old OCC contract. The bikes look very colorful. K'nex is absolutely competing head to head with Lego this year.

Coasters are certainly part of their core product, but they do seem to issue just about 2 new ones per year. The micro-bots and the OCC line are continuations of primarily rod & connector based Knex sets, so they have not abandoned the fundamentals of Knex for their corporate commitment to be the number one brick toy company in the U.S. (of course that's not difficult when there are no other brick toy companies manufacturing in the U.S.A.).

2011 SET NEWS!!!!!! K'nex has landed the Roary the Racing Car license. The line will come out in the fall of 2011.
For those of you like me (almost 60, not quite in touch with the world-wide-kindergarten entertainment colossus) Roary is an international phenomenon, licensed through NASCAR, and is to children and cars what Thomas the Train is to children and trains. I actually found something about their new amusement park sets; they have instructions for a ferris wheel and two coasters in their Instructions database.
