Default Help with parts

Hello All;

I am a newbie here and please excuse if I asking this in the wrong section. My daughter and I just bought the Ripping Rocket Roller Coaster (used) and we need to find some new track tubing as well as the connectors. I have searched ebay without any luck! I am hoping that you all may be able to direct me in the proper direction or that one of you may have the tubing and connectors for sale.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Is the set missing all of the track connectors and tubing?

Ebay is your best bet to find parts. There is 112 track connectors in the rippin rocket, so you will need to buy a couple lots like these:

here
here
and here

Tubing is a little rarer, but just keep your eye out for some. (purple tubing will work as well) Just be sure to get the right length, which i bilieve 2 pieces of 25 foot tubing.

There's really no other place to get knex pieces then ebay.

Hope this helps

Thank you Coaster for your reply.

I have all the yellow track connectors, luckily!

The actual track tubing is what I am missing. This leads to another question; What is the best way to connect the tubing together to make one continuous piece. I understand that in the kit there is to be some sort of splice to do this. Unfortunately, this is also missing. Can I substitute something else for this splice?

Once again, I thank you for your help.

If the "connection" is in a bit of a straight part (so the tubing isn't forced to much), you can try putting extra connectors at that part. One for both ends, or one at the connection and one more at each side should also do it.

As for the actual small plastic tubes (at least, that's what i got at the SS, purple ones), I don't know for eny substitute. But they are rather long too, so when I cutted one or 2 of them in half so they are smaller and work easier in curves. Though they support less, so the tubing gets lose rather fast when they're stressed.

Oh, I think a small piece of the thin, orange tubing might work aswell (not very strong though).

I see. When you said connectors, i assumed you meant the track connectors.
The tubing splice is available on the K'NEX website, however you can substitute many things, like toothpicks, micro knex rods, or you can even just tape it.

The very first RR set that i bought, was also missing its tubing, much to my disappointment, but I eventually found the right length on ebay, so just keep looking.

You might want to phone knex and talk to them about it. They sell many things that aren't listed on their website, and you might be able to get some.

For Track Splices, I myself use some carbon kite rods, the ones you find in cheap kites, they should be about 3mm in diameter. Make sure you cut them carefully and sand the ends down, you don't want any carbon fibers in your hand because they hurt bad!

I think you can find one of these rods for cheap at a specialized kite store or maybe even the bigger toy stores, they should be about 3 dollars.

You can also e-mail k'nex about it and they should send you a couple for free, I believe one of the members on our sister site sscoasters.net got 200 splices after a single e-mail.

If you have any coaster related questions, you might want to check that site too.

Just about anything that can fit snugly in the gap of the tubing can do that task.

You'll probably find the tubing if you look on eBay. I think they stopped selling it in their online store a couple years ago, though.
