Yeah. Knex has changed the ends on these pieces. I think they might of been out of some safety requirement, with the small metal pins. It will most likely be like that on all of the future coaster sets.
There is still lots of older sets like, Vertical Vengeance, Serpent spiral, Renegade run, and a couple more that have the old system with the metal ends. if you want to make a bigger coaster, i would suggest getting one of these. |

If the lighting has more track then you should get more of tge new sets. Everything after the speed coaster has the new track.

It was an unfortunate change for those of us who had accepted the transition to the new micro track. From the manufacturer's point of view, it makes sense. They are a plastics company after all, one of the largest manufacturers of prescription pill bottles in the world.
