Question New Knex Sets?

Wow, it has been awhile since something was posted here.

Anyways, I was browsing the Knex website in the shop section, and I found some new coaster sets. I looked at them, and most of them look like previous coaster sets!

Hotshot Video Coaster looks exactly like Extreme View Video Coaster. Both Sonic Blizzard and Cobra's Curse look like Hornet Swarm. Speed Demon looks similar to Renegade Run.

I'm wondering if the names and colors were changed, or if they are actually different from what they look like (piece count, etc). The Knex company has never done anything like this before.

OK, Monster Jam is out! There are 8 sets in the intial release, and they are builds on at least two scales. There are two twin packs, each containing 2 collidable micro-scale monster trucks. How micro??? Two complete builds from 44 pieces! New components for the Knex system included in these sets are 1. a new version of the micro/standard wheel hub, with a socket extension to more tightly secure a standard white rod used as an axel. 2. a new knex vehicle suspension system, consisting of 2 1x4 plates with super tall studs (super is 4 times the height of Lego studs) each with a leaf spring and ring for receiving an axel. 3. standard blue spacers done in gray (a new color for builders. And 4, tiny truck cabs which mount on a 2x4 brick.

Besides two twin packs, there are 4 larger (knexman {i.e., lego minifig scale}) vehicles, each with a custom driver. There are also 2 larger kits, a 104 piece ramp set with two builds and pullback motors (note this is the new knex brick based pull back motor first released last Christmas in the emergency vehicle set) and a 255 piece transporter rig for Grave Digger, i.e. a big rig with a copy of grave digger to ride inside.

The new OCC line is in the stores (TRU at least)now
Some look like near-remakes of the old line, others, especially the waspy looking black chopper, look totally original

A slew of new Nascar sets, including 4 new cars, at least 3 pit crew sets, and two large sets, a Stadium awards stand set and a big-rig transporter for #88

And a ninth Monster Jam set, just saw it yesterday. Reuses many of the Extreme Sports elements used years ago by Knex. The large hay bail blocks and the long "extreme" ramp. Allows a version of Grave Digger to do a 360 while airborne and land on its feet bouncing on its leafspring shocks. As an asside here, I think the use in this set of classic auxilliary elements like the long ramp and the hay bales really demonstrates the corporations take on their bricks and sticks philosophy..they see their product line as seamless, and not radically altered with the introduction of brick elements.

Additionally there is at least one new mid sized coaster set and two ten builds brick and stick sets, a (third?) racers set and a pirate themed 10-build set.

Largest outpouring of new Knex sets at once I've ever seen :-}.

I hardly ever see anything new at stores when I happen to check.

Me too, many stores actually are getting less different sets that they sell.

Make that 10 Monster Jam sets out on the shelves. Plus new light-up Ferris wheel.

The ten builds sets are racers and flyers. The pirate set is a 20 build set, similar to last year's race car and dinosaur 20 build sets.

That makes at least 32 new Knex sets in their summer release!
