Cool Tallest K'Nex Tower

Since posting has been nonexistent in the Buildings/Towers forum, I figure I might as well get something going.

Anyone think this record height will be broke soon or ever?

The Video won't play for me.
EDIT:
Lol, now it does. I think the stars of "Little People - Big World" on TLC are taller than that.

ROFL x1000 at that video. Tallest K'Nex tower my ass--Dynamo was probably taller than that thing (Enigma and Glacier definitely were).

Yeah, people that state things without doing research, I really get annoyed by them.

i heard the size of 106 feet before,
though i can't find eny record of it. Enyone knows a site/pickture?

and also, if you got a huge amount of k'nex, you can make eny size.

There should be a rate at height/weidth or height/pieces to compare towers.

Mine's 30' 9.6" (9m38), but now i got more k'nex, so next time i'll get higher (I hope)

When it crashes, it even fell over the fence. Had to run to the neighbours to retrieve it XD

but 106'... that must be some sponsored event with lots of people and special equipment (cranes, scaffolds, ..)

To bad i got to record everything with a digital photo camera, video quality isn't so good. (and it's an irritating .mov file type, a pain to get it working in movie maker)

Can't wait till spring to try it again

Heck, we've had 70* weather for the last two weeks (yes, in November). If it's still this good over Winter Break, I might decide to build an outdoor ball tower (maybe...12 feet tall?).

^I failed at my attempt for a big ball machine outside.

I had built all the pieces inside, and had done all the tracks, and switchers on the top 5 feet. Then i put it up out side, it was about 12 feet tall. Then i left it for a day, and came back the next day and looked up and realized i had built all the tracks through the shaft where the chain needed to go down. I had completely forgotten about the chain. I couldn't reach up there, so i just gave up and disassembled it.

Hopefully yours turns out better...

but that's a good idea, might try building some ball machine that reaches to my window next spring-summer

Theres no link for it on the interent that i can find, but in the Knex 110+ book of ideas(red cover, made for limited time) it has a picture of it. Its 100.4 feet high, used 50,342 rods and connectors. Only 3 types of pieces were used on the entire tower. The Tan rods, that are red leangth, but stronger, the black rods, same leangth as grey, but stronger and blue 3d connectors.

TBH, 130 feet is not possible. Unless you are geting sponserd by knex, or another giant company, you won't have the pieces, or equipment to complete it.

do you know if it's free-standing?
like, only one main shaft (not several connected at different heights like meny high-coaster builders do) and without cables holding it at place?

and i think if we all put our k'nex together we can get pretty high

It was free standing.

it was 4 shafts connected together, with cross bracing all the way up. It was built somewhere in England, by Knex themselves.

One of the biggest issues you would have, because of the height, is that it would be illegal to construct without a permit.

You would also need some equipment (large cherry picker maybe) to assemble the tops of the structure. It would be nice to have all the pieces it would require though.

130 feet...I can't see anyone reaching that height without some 75,000-100,000 pieces.

well, the tower k'nex made not counted, which one is the highest tower now?

Highest I can think of is TTD's Particle Accelerator coaster (40.2 feet tall).
