Default Ball lift mechanism

Link does not work
Inspired by Floris2Burn's lift.
It can be used to transport balls in horizontal, vertical and diagonal direction.

Version 2:
Link does not work
Yes it's super fast!

Very nice. I like how its a based on a blue rod because most people usually build ball machines with a blue base.

I'm surprised your motor can turn all of those gears. When ever i put more then 10 gears on, my motor dies on me. Gotta find that electric motor.

Nice, no other words really.

I wish I had as many yellow gears as you.

Um I don't think its a stronger motor then others. The gears (red work too) turn pretty smooth without motor.

I already took it down since im making a better version which will use a 12V motor and be a lot faster.

nice, i just started from the usual ball track to build the lift on.
i tested my mill lift at different angles and it works to like 80° or so but i removed the 4 extra rods at 90° shifting caus i was running out (until recently) so i don't know if this would fix the angle problem.
well, you don't realy have it caus the balls have no space between 2 mills.

and putting the mill lift in the ball tower at 80° would be a bit of trouble if u want to connect everything completely. it'd just be loosely connected

oh, and you showed the balls moving on top of the mills, i think i mentioned of doing that somewhere (either here or on youtube) but my problem is that it often falls off from the narrow rods. and also, making it drop at the right time at the right place is a bit hard (to be integrated in the ball machine).
I was thinking of some kind of platform like when using a chain lift but then making the balls stop far enough, and then the mills taking the balls off by pushing them.

enyhow, I'm glad I inspired you and that other people will give credits aswell when using this idea

(i shouldn't talk this much)

Oh I thought you meant to just turn the motor in the other direction on Youtube. The only problem I've had with this one is that when you let the balls go down instead of up (under a 90° corner), a ball might slip between the orange connectors. But that can be easily solved by making them one blue ring closer to each other next time.

Lol I've just made that haha.
Try something like this:

The ball enters from the side, gets hold in position (with just a blue rod in my design at the moment) and then taken away. And then the next ball rolls into position, etc etc.
Just make sure that the gripping arm ONLY touches the ball that goes up.

Hope this helps... gah I talked to much as well :P

Cool, I like it! You also have lots of yellow gears. :P Does the lift work perfectly?

Um there were no balls that got stuck... but as I said above. Very rarely there is a ball slipping through the wide orange grippers (how else should I call them). So if you would take out 1 blue spacer it truly works 100% perfect.

what i meant is to take the ball from top to down on the upper side of the mills

for that, it'd need this "platform"

for putting the balls in the lift i got this "fence" on my bottom mill that prevents them from entering till the next swoop. (only one each swoop so the balls don't go up too fast, the chain lift next to it would get overloaded.)

Oh ok I didn't understand it right then.

EDIT: I just tested my newer version with the 12 V motor, its 15 yellow gears high. It can hold 7 balls at the same time. But the motor is slowing down a lot.

So it seems 15 yellow gears high is to much. I could make it smaller... gear it down, or add another motor.

Wow, that's fast!! I'm surprised the ball doesn't jam. How many balls can you put in there simultaneously?

Before I made it faster it held 7 balls on one motor, now it holds 3-4 with 2 motors. However, the more balls it carries, the slower it turns.

well, putting it diagonally might help a bit.

but man, you need a lot of those yellow gears for that set of length

Red work too

I tried it, but there wasnt a big difference, so maybe I should have put one motor on 1/4th of the lift and the other motor on 3/4th. It should cost the motor less power that way...

or you could devide the machine into steps, each motor operating about 5 gears/mills
and you either synchronise the motors and the rotations or you create an entrance into the second lift, which'll loose a bit of height

Sorry for another dubbelpost, but look what i found:
YouTube - ciremip's Channel

By "ciremip", though I can't find eny posts of him here.

Enyhow, I'm dissapointed as everyone reffers to kairah for this mechanism while it's based on mine.

Guess I'll have to make instructions for it (and maybe the inverted chain lift, based on.. someone's else here)

Oh well..
