Default First custom gun...

Alright, well today I started work on my very first custom gun. I went for a reasonably small pistol design and I've got most of the body done. Pics...

As you can see, I still have the following to do:

(A): Install the trigger.

(b): Install the shooting mechanism.

(C): Add and tune the rubberbands.

I may also change the color scheme on the handle and add several small features on the outside but that will wait until the main stuff is finished. So, any commments??

Make the handle at 45 degrees, or find a different angle. Straight handle's aren't very comfortable.

^^If you look close, you can see that the snowflake connector is braced against two white rods. This prevents it from breaking and yes I have tested it.

^Thanks.

Okay, sooner than expected update time....but it's mainly to ask a question. Should I keep the trigger design I have now?? I found out that it actually has almost no need for a rubberband seeing as the friction of the pieces and how it is placed keeps it in place. I need to know what you guys think though....pics, and a test vid to show how the trigger works....

No, it doesn't actually make the whole gun bend. I think it was how I was holding it or something. Comment, but not too harshly....it is my first gun, lol...

Yep. The trigger will pull away the connector that blocks the band-powered rod. Then the band-powered rod will strike and drive out the 'bullet'.

However, I found a better trigger design that is more flexible and will hopefully work better. So now, only the following priorities are left:

(A): Install the firing rod.

(b): Add rubberbands.

(C): Put some sort of aiming clip (not sure what they're called) at the top of the barrel.

Any comments or questions??

^Oh yeah, sorry *slaps self in face*. As for the firing rod, I'll go ahead and do that. But first, a small update on a couple changes...

The gun is close to completion!! Due to a problem with the firing rod, I shortened the barrel by taking out one half moon connector. It now will work fine and (I think) will have a decent firing range. The new trigger desing works very nicely and I have also added a small aiming clip at the top of the barrel (it was added after the pics were taken). Pics...

Green connector is the trigger BTW

Now all that's left is the firing rod and rubberbands. Next update will hopefully include the completed gun witha vid to show the range. Comments and/or questions appreciated!!

Thanks. Just as a side note, I can adjust the power slightly by notching the rubberbands farther down the barrel. I have a question though.....does my gun need to have a name like an MA1 or something?? I'm not quite sure how the name thing works, so any suggestions would help greatly.

No more comments....??? I'm going to enter this in the database, so I guess it's fine if I just label it as 'close range pistol' or anything like that, seeing as I don't have a name??? Just checking, so comment please.
