Default Large K'nex Walker

Hey,

For a little contest on ibles I made a big k'nex walker (the biggest I've seen so far actually)

the gears are having a high amount of torque so maybe it's usefull to show how I made this thingy XD

If you realy need close-up picktures of the gears, just ask me.

The video has higher resolutions available on youtube, in case you want to watch it in a bigger window.

Wow, that walker is big. Great job! And I think you'll win the contest.

When I read the title I thought of a walker for an old person to help them walk.

But that is very cool. Very Star Wars-esque.

Too bad it doesn't go *Stomp, Stomp* when it walks, that would make it real robo-like.

You almost have that when you use a regular 3V motor.
It runs at a lower number of revolutions so it's less geared down. Which results in a higher required amount of torque, which it doesn't realy have.

So the 3V motor realy goes loud when the robot goes up, and gets too slow when it comes down. The robot makes the gears go faster then the motor goes by itself. Then you have it hitting the floor.

Though, it's why I picked this particular song. It has a bit of a slow beat in it that, to me, represents the robot stomping.
